Jerry Coe, founder of Coe Studios, is a sculptural metalsmith who works in bronze using traditional blacksmithing methods. He began studying traditional blacksmithing while an apprentice restorer, wheelwright, and smith at Yosemite National Park's Pioneer History Center. Jerry opened his Berkeley studio in 1984 and extended his metalworking disciplines to create Coe Studios Architectural Lighting in 1989.
Coe Studios' bronze lamps are designed to fill the need for durable, high quality lighting with a style simple enough to work with many gardens and homes, from contemporary to traditional. The fixtures are elegant and versatile: you can set them at ground level attached to conduit, mount them on a railing or post, use them as wall sconces, or even hang them from the eaves.
This handsome wall sconce provides good downlight and side light for entryways. For the SR-GL, our supplied 15w-120v or 12-volt LED bulbs provide good light for an 8-foot radius. For the SR-EN, our supplied 60-w 120v or 12-volt LED bulbs provides light for a 50-foot radius. These fixtures also accept low-voltage bulbs for low voltage installations. All mounting fasteners are provided.
Our distinctive posts of solid cedar are hand-turned by an artisan in Sonoma. A square hole one inch in diameter runs through the center of the post for easily slipping in conduit. The posts taper gradually from a rounded top to a square base and can be mounted to a deck, set into cement, or buried into the ground.
