Services
Back in 1931 when the store was founded, the original owners Edward, John and Mary Fleming set out to offer the best products and service at the best prices. Today, the Smith family carries on the same business ethic. Fleming's is a truly unique store, not only carrying a wide selection of lighting, but delightful gifts and decorative accessories as well.
Our chandeliers can add elegance, compliment a rustic look, or be the centerpiece of a room. When using a chandelier over a table, it is important to know the width (not length) of the table in order to properly size the light. Other helpful measurements are ceiling height and room dimensions, so bring this information to Fleming's when shopping for a chandelier. We will be happy to guide you to just the right chandelier for your home.
People tell us often that we have the best selection of table lamps anywhere. The styles range from traditional Asian porcelains to the nautical Mariner style, to contemporary lamps in metal, crystal, and mother-of-pearl. We also custom-make lamps that you won't find anywhere else in the world. And to ensure the lamp is right for your space, we allow you to borrow the fixture to try in your home.
Our pendant selection can fill most any need. Whether you're lighting a kitchen island, a hallway, a vestibule, or need that added touch to a room, we have it. We carry the largest selection of Bell Jars in New England. You'll love our star collection, not to mention our hand-blown Murano art glass pendants.

A light fixture which has been on my home for at least 50 years was in bad shape. The salt air had turned the inner workings to a dusty pile of crud. I loved the light fixture and did not want to give up on it. After a bit of sweating and swearing, it was removed from the wall. Some careful vacuuming removed five decades of crud. A bit of penetrating oil and the light part of the fixture was removed.

I am willing to take a good run at fixing just about anything. A long search online did not yield the correct parts. Fleming's in Cohasset said they'd take a look. Frank agreed that the light was worth saving. He provided me with an estimate and said it would be ready in less than two weeks. A week later, the phone rang. My light was ready. About a minute before closing, I received my light.

The craftsmanship and attention to detail was first rate. My light is now back in business for another 25 years. I recommend Fleming's and vouch for them 100%. Great service, beautiful craftsmanship, and a great selection of lights that look like they were made to hold up to the salt air of the South Shore.

After having a favorite lamp rewired at Flemings, it kept blowing out lightbulbs. I took the lamp back to see why and the gentleman told me it wasn't their rewiring but I was using " inferior " lightbulbs. I asked him to recommend which lightbulbs to use and did they have any. They didn't have the wattage I needed so he said he would order some for me.

I gave him my information and was told they would be in in 4 or 5 days and they would call when they came in. After 2 weeks I called the store to see where the lightbulbs were. The woman who answered said she didn't know but would find out and call me right back. I'm still waiting for the call. Obviously the conclusion I've come to is the bulbs were never ordered and they didn't have the common courtesy to get back to me.

Either it was too insignificant an order for them to bother with, or were thinking what if these bulbs didn't solve the problem with my lamp blowing out lightbulbs. Then their rewiring of my lamp would prove to be inferior and it wouldn't be because I use "inferior" lightbulbs.

Flemings in Cohasset is the best lighting store south of Boston. For such a small store they have an amazing selection of pendants, sconces and ceiling lights. The owner is extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and they let you take the lights home for a day or 2 to make sure it fits your space. They carry an extensive selection of Juliska lighting (as well as the dishes)and had exactly what I was looking for.

It is very difficult to imagine the lighting from a catalog or the internet and being able to take it home to try it made all the difference. They also have a great selection of lampshades and will help you find the correct size to freshen up your current lamp base. Highly Recommend!

Went in the other day looking for a gift for a friend. I seems I'm invisible because I could not get anyone to help me. The weren't busy, only one other person in the shop. So I'm not sure what the problem was. After awhile I left. Very rude!

This is probably the worst example of customer service I have ever encountered. Despite having been in the store numerous times, purchasing various items, I was floored by the owner's attitude toward a return. I received a Christmas rug as a gift on Christmas which did not go in my home. The rug was untouched until today when, post surgery, I went into exchange for something else. Initially, I was told that I could only have half of the purchase price of the rug because all the Christmas stock was on sale.

If I wanted to purchase something on the Christmas mark down, I would have to accept half price for the rug. After a lengthy and convoluted conversation with another employee, the owner begrudgingly gave me a store receipt for the full price. I left the store vowing never to return. I will give my friend the receipt. Surely there is better customer service than what was represented here!

It was off to Flemings I went the other day to search for a new shade for an antique marble lamp we love and as I knew I would, I found the perfect one. This store in the heart of pretty Cohasset Village touts itself as a lighting store. And indeed if you're in need of anything having to do with lamps, sconces, chandeliers and the like you've truly come to the right place.

The choices are seemingly endless no matter what area of your home you might be interested in illuminating inside or out. The staff is incredibly helpful no matter how big or small your needs might be. Beyond lighting however I've found myself here on more than one occasion. This can be a great place to find a special gift as I did not too long ago. Friends who are getting married next weekend like Mariposa metalware and so it was here I found what I think will be a nice gift.

They also sell some things made by local artisans which is another nice touch with a nod to the community. Flemings does repair work on metal including sterling silver. While we haven't tried that service, we know someone who has. These days I don't know who else is doing this kind of much appreciated craftsmanship. I plan to bring a pair of sterling candlesticks that belonged to my parents which sadly have gotten dented.

They will restore, replate and make any silver you have look like new and they guarantee their replating work for 25 years. Hello! Flemings is a unique store that's been around town since 1931 offering a variety of home products and services with the kind of attention from staff that otherwise feels like a lost art in America. Nothing here comes inexpensively however. The lampshade was pricey, I'll admit. But for the type of great, local, individualized service I think it's worth it.
