Valerie and the team at San Diego Stage & Lighting are truly outstanding! They answered my questions, offered suggestions and guided me towards putting on the production I wanted to. Use them if you can. They know their stuff!

We've been using SDS&L equipment during event production for the past 20+ years. Needless to say they can work on customer service, you must remember that they are real people with real life situations going on. Their rental prices are fantastic, however you better be ready to PAY to replace any damaged items/cable/etc. Always triple check your items during setup/breakdown/transit storage! Thank you SDS&L for your services over 20+ years.

Not sure why everyone is giving such poor reviews on customer service. My experience with this company was very positive, and the customer service was great. They responded promptly to my inquiry submitted through their website. We exchanged several emails and telephone calls while they helped me determine what equipment was necessary for my event. Their prices are fair, and they're not out to nickel and dime because they helped me save money on my quote. Thank you!

Horrible customer service. Lady on the phone had no patience or offered guidance with rental questions. I preferred to pay more and drive farther than rent from them. Customer service is everything!

This company is fantastic! The two ladies that helped me, Valarie and Denise, were wonderful. I rented a bubble machine from them for a holiday party I have for a group of kiddos I work with. They made sure the machine worked ahead of time and gave me helpful hints on how to set it up to get the most bubbles out of it! As an added bonus they gave me an extra gallon of bubbles so that I wouldn't run out during the party!

The machine was a hit for not only myself but everyone there! I was referred to them by a friend and am very happy I went with this company and I would refer them to anyone and everyone! Great customer service and a great company! Thank you for being so wonderful!

THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN! STAY AWAY! made a reservation for my engagement party for a basic stage rental to be picked up the day before. All was set so I sent my pour uncle who closed his business early so he can make it to them before closing. They close at 5, my uncle drove 2 hours in traffic to arrive at 5:01. I was in touch with the main rental manager and filled them on everything that he was driving from a long distance and the occasion and his ETA.

She simply said that is not my problem I am leaving. SHE COULDNT WAIT 1 EXTRA MINUTE when everything and the significance of it all was explained clearly. I was left without a stage at my engagement party and they could care less. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN HISTORY! everyone stay away by all means pay extra to others but don't give any business to these losers!

We used this company several times a year for six years. This is a new low. Received broken lights with no SDSL sticker and removed serial number. At return they didn't except them back even though we called right away when we received the lights and told them they were broken. They used to be only rude. Now they are in the business of scamming non-profit costumers. Beware of this company! If you must use them, take a picture of every piece of equipment before you take them.

Horrible customer service. From the workers to the receptionist all have bad attitudes. The owner should consider evaluating all of their employees so that they don't loose customers. Very disappointing. I would not consider stepping inside this unwelcoming environment. So sad! And the worst part that they don't care.

Well for my first time it wasn't so bad. Picked up some bulbs for stage lighting that needed replacing and the sales rep discounted my purchase since I was buying so many. Also learned a little bit about light gels with the help of the girl working. She even gave me some free samples that I could use for my next purchase and a booklet for figuring out how to get special effects for theater performances.

Over all it went well and I learned things about lighting. I recommend bring the bulb you need or know the exact type you need before going down there. Don't forget to checkin to get a free globo.

I own a small DJ and Sound Company. I had purchased lighting equipment else where. I had issues in setting up the system and after hours of racking my brain I decided to call SDSL. They told me to come down and they would try to help me. They were very accommodating and took their time with me even though I hadn't purchase from them. Excellent Customer service. So the folks at SD Stage and Lighting are truly amazing. I recently held my wedding at the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park. After consulting several different lighting services and realizing that they are all ridiculously overpriced (welcome to the wedding industry) I decided to take my minimal lighting experience and do the lighting myself.

I kept it simple with just some stringer lights over a pavilion. SD Stage and Lighting made sure I rented all the proper equipment to set up the lights safely. They answered all my stupid and strange questions as I planned the set-up and they did so with patience and friendliness. I was constantly adding and changing my order and this was never a problem and never once did they mix anything up.

Very professional throughout. Although I did set the lights up myself, the president Denise Doyle, offered to send someone to take the lights down the next day (which was something I definitely did not want to do on the day after my wedding (poor planning on my part)) at no additional charge. This is a quote from that email, "You will not need to be present.

Enjoy your time with your bride." I cannot even begin to stress how awesome that was to hear. It lifted an incredible burden off my shoulders. Thank you San Diego Stage and Lighting for putting up with my craziness and making my wedding happen. And thank you M.W. for taking down the lights, I hope it wasn't too much of a hassle. Oh, and the lights looked fantastic. I will be calling you guys if I ever need anything lighting related. Thanks again!
