We have a passion for colonial, country and early American period lighting! Our 18th century lighting reproductions are handcrafted from start to finish to create truly authentic primitive lighting.
Services
Located in the heart of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, since 1973, The Tin Bin has been located in a house dating back to the 1700's and a barn dating back to the 1800's. What began as a hobby for James and Jo Ann Lutton, the business quickly blossomed allowing the couple to operate the store full time.
We send out a monthly newsletter so please be sure you are signed up for our Mailing List! We will let you know about sales, specials, new products and give decorating tips. Of course, you may always unsubscribe if you do not want to receive emails from us and your email is never shared with any other website.
We work very hard to add lots of new primitive and country decor for your home decorating needs. Please check back often to see what is new! Not in stock at this time but will usually ship within 1-8 weeks depending on the schedule of each individual crafter/vendor. Feel free to email to check delivery times. Out of Stock - When this item arrives to the store, it will appear as in stock and will allow you to purchase.
Several products have additional shipping charges because they are oversized or are drop shipped directly from our crafters. The shipping will calculate automatically and you will know upon checkout what your shipping charges will be. We ship orders complete. All of our time frames are approximations.

Tin Bin is such a quaint store. I live in Michigan so I buy online from them often. All my lamps in my home are from them as my wall sconces candle holders lanterns timer candles and Christmas items. The store staff call if there is a concern with an order to ensure quality and timely delivery. Everything is also so well packed. I hope to visit there one day.

Amazing inventory and selection! Perfect for the Primitive/Colonial shopper. Very nice and helpful staff. I recommend if you are in the area that this be a store you shouldn't miss!

Wonderful primitives and lighting boutique. Stop by to explore. Online catalog and easy ordering as well. Helpful staff but not welcoming the two times I shopped there. "Thank you for coming in" or "We hope to see you back soon" would be so nice to hear.

My wife ordered hooks for our kitchen remodel on January 3rd and we needed to ask for a refund today(Feb 19) as our order was still at least "2 weeks out, at best". Let alone when asked if they could inform us if we will have any more delays they responded to telling us that we need to contact them next week as they don't have a list who to contact.how about the customers whose money you took over a month ago and have not even shipped our item? Oh, our item was also "in stock" when we ordered.

We sent multiple emails asking about our order to eventually we got a response. All after having our order be pushed out twice, and they always seem to blame their supplier or shipper. Do not do business with if you hope to have a smooth transaction or have your own remodels to do. If you're willing to wait months or years for their item im sure they look nice.

Ordered a Westbury table square. it was shipped and received in two days and the product is exactly as described. very high quality. beautiful. Would definitely order from again.

I made purchases through the internet for Christmas gifts, that were sadly delayed by COVID19 related logistic problems. While disappointed the items were delayed, I still recommend the store because of their unique items and because of their outstanding customer services. They owned the delay and worked hard to keep me informed and to answer my questions.

They were able to work with my son who lives locally to pickup a partial order, which were gifts for his wife, as soon as the items arrived. The next time I am in the area, I will stop in and thank them for making a situation totally outside their control bearable and understandable. This is why I try to support small businesses; they treat you like a person or even as a friend.

I place a $150 order from this company about 6 weeks ago. They ran my CC and had their payment the same day of the order. I have had no communication, no product, and no responses to my emails since then. i waited three weeks for a response and got nothing until leaving a negative review. Great way to run a business guys. oh and when I finally do get a response from you, you tell me that it's my fault for you not reading my inquiry about lead time? Give me a break. You are in business; take responsibility for yourself!

My husband and I have shopped at the Tin Bin, both online and in person for the last 30 years. We've purchased everything from special order punched tin lights to antiques to decorative items. Today, we visited the shop in person and found a lovely Christmas item and took it up to the counter to pay for it. It had no price tag on it, so we found a duplicate item just like it for pricing, that actually had a ticket on it.

The salesperson took one look at it and exclaimed, Oh no that can't be right.that's incorrect.someone must have mistakenly put the wrong price on that. She then quoted a price that was more than double the price tag. She checked it against something on the store computer and exclaimed. No actually that price isn't correct either.it's actually this price.a price that was STILL double the original.

I guess I might be incorrect in assuming that if the store made a mistake ticketing the item, they need to honor that price. Mind you, this was NOT a sticky price tag that someone could have been removed from one item and placed on another item. The salesperson would not honor the original price. So, based on this interaction, my husband and I have decided to no longer shop there and we will be taking our future business elsewhere.

Got the most perfect wrought iron chandelier to go in my kitchen. My home is decorated very eclectically and the chandelier fits right in. I seem to be able to find something at the Tin Bin that tickles my fancy every time I visit. As a super bonus they always have the lightbulbs for any old fixture I may have.

I recently ordered curtains from The Tin Bin. The order arrived as noted by the sales description, and they are excellent quality. Our new home was made even more cozy due the look and feel of our new window decor. We went with the prairie style, and they did not disappoint. One curtain arrived with a broken string, but as soon as I notified them of this, a new one was sent promptly.

No questions asked! They are so easy to work with, and the style and quality of material, along with the customer service is over-the-top. I hope to make a trip to Lancaster to visit their store someday, but until I can get there, I'll be sure to shop from their online store. Thank you, Tin Bin!

I placed an order on November 25 which I still have not received January 31. I have sent them an email 3 times requesting a status on the order with absolutely no response. This was a $250 order. I have ordered over $600 before from them. This is how they treat customers? I just want the sconces I paid for.

Stopped in this afternoon to look at lighting. Staff person did not greet us or speak to us at all. There was only one other person in the shop and never heard her acknowledge him either. For a shop off the beaten path, you think they would at least say something.
