BIRNS Millennium Series

The BIRNS Millennium series is a configurable high performance dry-mate interconnect range designed for deep submergence applications to 6km depth. Available with titanium or stainless-steel connectors and solid (molded) or oil-filled cable in straight or 90° configurations, it offers high and low voltage, RF, fiber optic, and electro-coax, electro-optical and electro-opto-coaxial hybrids.
Custom Cable Assemblies

BIRNS custom-designs and manufactures connectors from nearly any material, performs oil-filled cable assembly, splices and breakouts, and molding of epoxy, polyurethane, neoprene and other materials in our NAVSEA S9320-AM-PRO-020 certified facility. We perform hydrostatic pressure testing (to 20,000 PSI) electrical testing (to10kV), helium leak testing, triple optical testing, and in-house mechanical straight or side pull testing to 16,000 pounds.BIRNS electrical technicians and inspectors are certified IPC Specialists per J-STD-001 Class 3, and work is performed per IPC-A-610C.
BIRNS NPT Penetrators

BIRNS penetrators safely and reliably transmit electrical power or signal through a pressure boundary, decrease the complexity of electrical systems, and reduce dependence on operator skill. They are extremely rugged, require minimal maintenance, and are engineered for long-term deployment. BIRNS NPT (National Pipe Tapered) penetrators have tapered pipe threads and are widely used on diving bells and decompression chambers.

BIRNS Hull Penetrators transmit electrical power/signal through pressure hulls of human-occupied submarines and submersibles, and are custom-made to specific performance requirements. For example, our BIRNS 4-Port Pneumatic Hull Penetrators (main image at left) each provide four independent pneumatic line penetrations in a deep-ocean research submarine.
