Business Details
We are Sandwich Lantern, a family-owned handcrafted lighting business based in Sandwich, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod. We have operated since 1988, carrying on a multi-generational tradition of handcrafting high-quality lanterns in the United States. Our skilled craftsmen build every fixture on-site using solid copper and solid brass materials engineered to withstand harsh coastal and extreme weather conditions, including confirmed performance during Hurricane Sandy. We offer a lifetime guarantee on all our lanterns, excluding glass components, to reflect our confidence in our craftsmanship. Our fixtures are impervious to salt air and harsh environments, requiring only occasional glass cleaning to maintain their appearance over decades. We were founded by Malcolm Sherman, with initial handcrafting support from his nephew Steve, and are now run by Steve alongside his son Pete and nephew Jason.
As a small family-operated team, we prioritize exceptional quality and personalized customer service for every client we serve. We offer sizing consultation services, including accepting location photos via email to provide tailored recommendations for our lighting products. Our full product selection is available to view in person at our Sandwich, Massachusetts showroom, with additional visits available by appointment. We ship our handcrafted lighting fixtures across Cape Cod, Massachusetts, New England, the entire United States, and Canada to serve customers nationwide and cross-border. We accept orders via telephone, email, or in-person showroom visits for maximum customer convenience.

These people make the finest quality lanterns I have ever seen anywhere! I purchased 8 of them about 9 years ago for my house here on the Cape. Went back there today because the Nor-easter/Hurricane took off my Lantern on lamp post. The bottom section of the lantern was damaged from wind and I was prepared to leave it and pay for the repair. Much to my surprise, the owner told me to hold on for 10 minutes.
He comes back with a new base put on it and I asked him what the charge was.he said there is no charge, we stand behind our products. Absolutely the best people you could ever deal with and ACES all the way for customer service!

Pete & his father offer a ONE-OF-A-KIND Lantern. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars for their accommodations during my purchase. Not only does the large lantern look stunning on my porch but it was built with precision and preciseness. The optic glass radiates off of my porch making it the talk of the street and we are all the way in FL. Needed a little piece of my childhood with me and this echoes that calling.

Just picked up and installed 5 Onion Lamps we ordered to replace our outside lights. They are great. Great quality, handmade and included nice LED Edison style lightbulbs. Before we ordered we traded emails and went down to the shop. Nice people.
